Pride Month

Liturgical Resources for Clergy and Lay Leaders to Celebrate Pride

As we enter Pride Month, it is essential for each of us to find ways to celebrate Pride and the Queer and Trans community within our own parishes and contexts. Thus, these liturgical resources are adaptable, and can be used in your parish during any Sunday worship, or as a special worship by itself. We want to especially encourage you to consider lining up your church pride celebration with local pride celebrations.

We hope that you find these resources meaningful.

A Lenten Study on Queer & Trans Lives and Identities
Lent 2021

Join us this Lent to reflect on queer and trans identities within society and the church; the ways that we can learn; and how to be active allies. During this study, each day will have a featured thought to reflect on, with the week finishing on Sunday with a prayer to conclude the week’s topics. The topics include “Opening Our Hearts”, “End of Injustice & Discrimination”, “Spiritual Trauma”, “Intersectionality”, “Health and Happiness”, “Transgender Day of Visibility”, and “Active Allyship”.

We hope that you find these resources meaningful.

Transgender Day of Remembrance 2020
Liturgical Resources for Clergy and Lay Leaders: Sunday, November 22nd, 2020

Thank you for your interest in our resources regarding the Transgender Day of Remembrance. This is an important moment to recognize, particularly as people of faith who are called to “transform unjust structures of society, to challenge violence of every kind, and to pursue peace and reconciliation”.

In our resource package, we have included liturgical resources (such as an inclusive prayer, themes to explore in a sermon, Prayers of the People for Transgender Day of Remembrance, an adapted version of the Lord's Prayer for Transgender Awareness), three hymn suggestions from the resource guide "Songs for the Holy Other", and a resource handout with some basic definitions that can be used to help educate those in your congregation.

We hope that you find these resources meaningful.
