The Diocese of Huron will be marching under the “Proud Anglicans” banner for this year’s Pride Parade! The parade is this Sunday, July 24th at 12:00pm.
We will march together in the parade displaying rainbows and other pride-related material! If you have a Proud Anglicans T shirt, that might be a good idea to wear. Sunscreen, water bottles, and hats are also good ideas - same with rain gear (and let’s pray for no rain)! Clergy are asked to wear dark clerical shirts with a collar (it really does make a difference in our impact on the crowd). Additionally, if you are attending as a parish and would like to bring a banner or placard with your parish's name on it, or any other placards, that is also encouraged!
Everyone will be marching together as a "Proud Anglicans" unit, and ALL are welcome - so feel free to bring your friends, family, partner(s), and anyone else who would like to march with us!
Proud Anglicans is 15th in the lineup, paired with Camp Wendake and St. Jude’s/St. Alban’s. We are just behind Bell Media and Big Brothers & Big Sisters. It is recommended that you enter from the Rectory St. Gate into Western Fair District - there should be volunteers and/or signs to help you find your way! The parade ends at Victoria Park. Following the parade, you are welcome to come to St. Paul’s Cathedral for some food, fun, and fellowship!
This diocesan event is being hosted by St. Mark's Church, St. Paul's Cathedral, and supported by Proud Anglicans of Huron and the Deanery of London.
